Video Production
production of corporate videos
Finding a Video Production Company:
Finding a good video production company does involve more
than luck. We've put together some advice on finding someone who
can do your project, to your satisfaction, within the allocated
budget, and on time.
The process:
- You decide you want a video produced and produce a brief
- You speak to the script writer who comes up with an
outline idea that fits within your budget
- The producer then liaises with you and puts the production
team together
- Casting is done, sets built, staff ranging from make-up
artist to sound engineers are mobilised
- The shooting is done on master "broadcast
quality" tapes
- The footage is reviewed, some clips are selected for use
directly, and some that will need further work
- They are arranged in the order in which they will appear
in the final video
- You review this "guide" tape
- Visual effects, commentary, sound tracks etc are added
- The final video is presented in the format/s and media you
require
The Brief
Have a clear idea of what you want to achieve and document
it. Know what budget you have available for the project. Know
where you want it shot, how many actors you need & roughly
how long the shooting will last. Work closely with the script
editor who needs to understand your brief.
A video production company will want to know things like
- the target audience
- what the video will be used for (selling aid / training / recruitment
/ fund raising/)
- where the video will be used (web / integrated with sales
material / presented by a trainer).
Location
You want a certain mood and feel? You could find a location
that has it or you can usually create it in a studio. Because of
the high costs of set building and studio time it's sometimes
cheaper to fly the whole filming crew and actors to the other
side of the world to do the shooting.
